2020 Fairs - COVID-19 Response

March | 2020

Based on the recommendation from Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), due to the current COVID-19 health crisis, several of BC's Regional Science Fairs have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. This is an exceptional situation, and we are in this together.

This page will be updated as we hear back from each of the regions.

*Note: over the next few weeks, we are exploring the feasibility of a virtual showcase. Students should hold onto their projects if they wish to participate in such events that may result. Volunteers who are interested in helping with such an event, please get in touch with us at info[at]sciencefairs.ca.

The health and safety of our Fairs' participants, visitors and volunteers is always our highest priority.

Our hearts go out to the students who have studied, experimented, and innovated towards the showcase of their projects at the Regional Science Fairs. For students with Innovation projects, we invite you to participate in our virtual Youth Innovation Showcase.

All Regional Science Fairs are hosted by volunteer committees who have tirelessly planned for the 2020 Regional Science Fairs. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and look forward to welcoming students, parents, teachers, and judges back to the Fairs in 2021.
