Vancouver, BC - The Science Fair Foundation of BC is thrilled to announce the exceptional Finalists for the Youth Innovation Showcase 2023. Five projects from each age category have been selected to move on to the next round of the Showcase.
Two students will have the opportunity to win grand prizes of $5,000 in their age category each to further their innovations at the award show later this month.
“We are really excited to see the level of talent that has been displayed this year. The depth and creativity of these projects is inspiring” said Sarah Prade, Executive Director of The Science Fair Foundation BC.
By collaborating with industry and academic pioneers, these youth have had the opportunity to present their groundbreaking ideas, gain invaluable insights from experts, and explore the endless possibilities that a career in STEM can unveil. The inventive projects showcased this year so far have garnered a fanfare of media attention, further empowering youth that their ideas and solutions to everyday challenges have a platform to garner real-world impact.

Ages 12-15:
- Yufan Wang – CarieGuard
- Nicholas Creanga – B.B. Paper
- Jora Singh Nahal – A Novel Soap Recycling Embedded System for Greener Hospitality
- Ryyan Hammoud – Smart Naloxone Kit
- Antony Zhang – Refugee Pal
Ages 16-19:
- Yi Fu Xu – The Capacity Detector
- Pari Goyal – Raining Watts and Dogs
- Keanu Chan – PRecision Exospinal Constructive Innovative Stereotactic Evolution (PRECISE)
- Prabhnoor Kaur Sidhu – Mitigating the Effects of Debris Flows with NatureGate
- Sathvik Vinnakota & Raymond Li – Project NeuroGel: An Innovative Medium for Athletic Intracranial Injury Research
