Vancouver, British Columbia – Today, the Science Fair Foundation BC kicks off their third annual fitness fundraiser, Sweatin’ for Science presented by AbCellera.
Throughout the entire month of May, corporate teams and individuals are participating in work outs, tracking all of their activity and logging their hours towards their team’s total. Registrants are automatically included in the grand prize draw at the end of the campaign for a big Grand Prize Package.
Funds raised will help remove barriers in access to science fairs and STEM education as well as ensure the success and sustainability of science fairs across BC and Yukon. Financial aid for students participating in science fairs means they can access the tools necessary to develop their ideas and attend events outside their home communities.
For a second straight year, Sweatin’ for Science will be presented by AbCellera, a Vancouver-based company that finds antibodies that can be developed into medicines to prevent and treat disease.

After a successful space exploration theme last year, Sweatin’ for Science is exploring the ideas that brought us today’s technology and opening the door to the possibilities of tomorrow with their sci-fi to reality theme this year.
Registration for Sweatin’ for Science Sci-Fi to Reality is now open throughout the whole month of May. Participants can join at any time and push themselves to surpass weekly goals and challenge other teams while tracking their hours through an app from May 1 - 31.
